Normal Days Add Up
Why all the "in between" days matter more than you think
We’re officially in the last stretch of 2025 (wild, right?)
And while you’re probably thinking it’s all about the holidays from here on out, the math tells a different story.
Yes, you’ll celebrate. Yes, you might travel. Yes, some meals or even entire days will be out of routine. But most of your month? You’re going to have a lot of regular, “in between” days.
Let’s break down the numbers.
Even in the busiest scenario, more than half of your month is made up of time you can maintain some of your routine, continue working towards your goals, and hold onto the progress you’ve made this year.
Consistency > Intensity
This time of year isn’t usually about chasing your biggest goals, and it doesn’t need to be. But you also don’t have to swing to the other extreme, where every day feels like a free-for-all and you end up starting the New Year feeling drained, sluggish, or frustrated.
This is where small, steady choices come in.
Not perfect choices.
Not high-effort choices.
Just the everyday things that help you feel more like yourself:
Eating your normal, high protein breakfast before a big social event
Grabbing some easy-to-prep healthy meals at the grocery store
Staying on top of hydration
Hitting the gym when you can, and finding other ways to move when you can’t
Pausing before going back for seconds to decide if you’re still hungry
These small habits don’t seem like much in the moment, but they add up — not in a dramatic, New Year’s-resolution kind of way, but in a maintain-your-progress-and-your-sanity kind of way.
A December Reminder
You don’t have to be perfect to feel good this month.
Use the normal days to support your energy, your mood, your digestion, and your stress levels. Not because you “should,” but because you deserve to feel steady and well during a busy season.
A handful of celebrations won’t undo your progress. But staying connected to your routines on the normal days is what can help you enter January feeling like you didn’t lose yourself along the way.
If having guidance would make this season easier, our coaches can help you keep things simple, flexible, and grounded — so you can enjoy the holidays and feel good moving into the new year.
